Obituary

CHICOPEE – Claire V. (Malo) Ringuette, 98, of River Mills Assisted Living at Chicopee Falls and a longtime resident of Lafayette Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home in Chicopee on August 8, 1926, a beloved daughter of the late Napoleon and Adelina (Chevalier) Malo. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield, and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a devoted mother of deep faith who took great pride in raising her family. She enjoyed reading and loved taking walks around the neighborhood. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She was a longtime communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee where she was a member of the Ladies of Sainte Anne Sodality. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate, Donald C. Ringuette who was Called Home on January 23, 2016. They were married at Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee on September 11, 1946 and were blessed with over 69 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving and devoted children, Linda C. Beaudry and her husband, Gary, of Chicopee, and Roger D. Ringuette and his wife, Janice, of Providence, RI; her three cherished grandchildren, Daniel Ringuette and his wife, Anne, Matthew Ringuette and his wife, Jennifer, and Rachel Coulter and her husband, Michael; her six cherished great grandchildren, Jacob Ringuette, Joshua Ringuette, Gabriel Ringuette, Elise Ringuette, and twins, Cash and Dean Coulter; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her seven dear siblings, Paul Malo and his wife, Loretta, Roland Malo and his wife, Olive, Rene Malo and his wife, Lorraine, Romeo Malo, Blanche Mailloux and her husband, Michael, Gilberte Belanger and her husband, Raymond, and Rose Whittaker and her husband, Donald. Her family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Joan of Arc School, 587 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
