Peter E. Lofgren, age 74, of Norton, passed away comfortably at home, surrounded by his loving and adoring family on Thursday, November 28, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Suzanne L. (Sanford) Lofgren, to whom he was married for forty-six years at the time of her death on April 26, 2018.
Born in Attleboro, MA on March 17, 1950, he was a loving son of the late Bernard A. and Barbara L. (Burns) Lofgren.
Peter grew up in Norton, was educated in Norton Schools, attended Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro and was a graduate of Barrington High School in Rhode Island.
A resident of Norton for most of his life, Peter had worked in the jewelry industry in the quality assurance departments at Tiffany & Company in Attleboro, the former L.G. Balfour Company in Attleboro, as well as at Howard H. Sweet & Son, Inc. in Attleboro.
Peter’s family, whom he loved dearly, always came first. He was a self-proclaimed genealogy master, an avid member of ancestory.com and loved sharing his love for fishing with his children and grandchildren. Peter was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and will always be remembered for the special place in his heart he held sacred for all the pet dogs in his life.
He is survived by his devoted children, Kimberly Barbara Lofgren of Norton, Patrick Michael Lofgren of Berkley, Kevin Nils Lofgren and his wife Melissa of Coventry, Rhode Island and Jennifer Lynne Robbins and her husband Zachary of Norton. He was the cherished grandfather of Connor P. Lofgren, Charles R. Lofgren, Cole E.S. Robbins, Edward B. Lofgren and Danica M.L. Robbins. He was the dear brother of Linda Knight of California, Timothy Lofgren of Rhode Island, Joseph Lofgren of Rhode Island, Christopher Lofgren of Rhode Island, John Lofgren of California, Theresa Shorts of Rhode Island, Joanne Moyher of Florida and the late Maryanne Simoes and Stephen Lofgren. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, December 3rd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
Burial will be held privately at a later date at the Newland Cemetery in Norton.
In lieu of flowers, Peter’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to a non-euthanizing animal shelter of one’s choice.
