Philip A. Clemente, age 94, of Medford passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21st, surrounded by his family. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Antonio and Tina (Marino) Clemente. Philip graduated from the High School of Commerce in 1948, and attended UMass-Fitchburg. He was a member of Knights of Columbus. Philip embarked on a successful career as a chef for many years, and later in his career became a culinary arts instructor.
Beyond his work, Philip enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and could be found tending to his garden or enjoying outdoor yardwork. In his leisure time, he enjoyed cherished trips to Rockport, MA and Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Holliston. Family was the cornerstone of Philip’s life and he played an active role in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he adored.
Philip was the beloved husband of the late Clara (Labagnara) Clemente, and the devoted father of Anthony Clemente of Medford and his late wife Lana, Donna Marie Hurley of Malden and her late husband John, and Philip Clemente of Medford. He was the loving grandfather of Anthony, Tanya, Damien, Jami, Gina, Rebecca and Rachel, and is also survived by many loving great grandchildren. Philip was the dear brother of Jack Clemente of Medford, the late Victor Clemente and his late wife Tina, and the late Vita Reagan and her surviving husband William of Burlington.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Philip’s family on Monday, December 2nd from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10 AM. At the request of the family, please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory can be made to a charity of your choice. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
