Mary Margaret “Marge” Manchinton
December 31, 1932 – November 20, 2024
Mary Margaret “Marge” Manchinton, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2024, at the age of 91.
Born on December 31, 1932, Marge spent her early years in multiple foster homes raised with very little, holding tightly to the hope of finding and building a permanent family of her own one day. While showing remarkable strength, kindness, and love, her dream came true when she met and married her soulmate, William “Ted” Manchinton, creating a life filled with love, stability, and joy.
For 31 years, Marge served as the Secretary to the Principal of Medford High School, where she earned the endearing nickname “school mom”. Known for her sound advice and a well-stocked candy drawer, she became a cherished confidante to countless students and staff.
After being a full-time mother to their three children, Marge dedicated her time as a volunteer at the local Salvation Army, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. Summers found her enjoying the beauty of York Beach, ME, while winters were spent in the charming warmth of Long Boat Key, FL.
Marge found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether playing bingo, relaxing on the beach, trying her luck at casino slot machines, or baking delicious treats for her loved ones. Her kindness and warmth will be remembered by all who knew her.
Marge is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ted and their daughter, Donna Jean Fusco. Marge showed the true meaning of remarkable strength, faith and courage during the remaining years of her life as she dealt with this pain and grief. She is also survived by her son, William J. Manchinton and his wife, Denise Manchinton of Florida, daughter Joanne Tansey of Medford, MA and son-in-law, Francis Fusco, of Medford, MA, and her five adored grandchildren, William J. Manchinton Jr. and Joseph Manchinton, Anthony Fusco and Mark Fusco, and Robert Tansey.
Visitation will be held at Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, MA on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be celebrated at noon.
