Susan Revere (Curtis) Emery, 86, of Little Compton, RI peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Hiram W. Emery, Jr., her husband of 47 years.
Susie was born in Waterville, ME, daughter of Paul Revere Curtis Jr. and Marjorie (Towle) Curtis. She attended St. Margaret’s School and Colby-Sawyer College. Before raising her family, she worked for photographer Slim Aarons at Holiday Magazine in New York City. She was a passionate gardener, flower arranger and photographer. Susie was a Garden Club of America judge and President of both the Green Fingers Garden Club in Greenwich, CT and the Little Compton Garden Club. She sang with the Grace Notes in Greenwich and with the United Congregational Church Choir in Little Compton. Susie was also a prolific painter and particularly enjoyed capturing the farm and seaside landscapes in Little Compton.
She is survived by her daughter Marjorie E. McCleary (Benjamin) and Hiram W. Emery III (Caroline) and her beloved 7 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held, Friday, December 13th at the United Congregational Church in Little Compton, RI at 11:00 A.M.
