Mr. Henry S. ‘Sonny’ Overlock, Jr., a longtime resident of West Medford, passed away at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester on Saturday morning, November 23, 2024. He was 93 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on February 11, 1931, he was the beloved son of the late Henry S., Sr. and Alice C. (Stang) Overlock. Henry was a US Air Force veteran, entering the military at Boston on May 28, 1951 and received his honorable discharge on May 27, 1955. Mr. Overlock was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He had worked as a Helicopter Mechanic, for many years after leaving the military.
In his spare time, Henry enjoyed reading about world history and religion. He was also a volunteer for the Cassin Young at the Charlestown Navy Yard.
Henry is survived by his cousin, Isabelle Halem of Virginia and dear friends, Stephen and Patty Briand of Woburn.
