Antonino, Marie E. (McPhee), 77, of Sagamore, MA, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on November 22, 2024. Marie is survived by her husband Richard Antonino of Sagamore, MA; her son Richard Antonino (Kristin Lindquist) of Plymouth, MA; her daughter Teresa Obin (Carl) of Randolph, MA; her sister Margaret Needre of Randolph, MA; and her grandchildren Alexandra Antonino and Richard Antonino. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Christine McPhee of Randolph, MA, and by her brother Gary McPhee of Brockton, MA.
Marie was born in Weymouth, MA, and graduated from Randolph High School in 1965. Two years after graduation she married her high school sweetheart Richard Antonino. While both of their children were in primary school in Holbrook, MA, Marie was a full-time homemaker who occasionally worked in the school offices there. She was also involved in Holbrook Youth Hockey and was a CCD teacher for several years. The family moved to Braintree, MA, in 1985 and Marie started her ten year career as an administrative assistant for a workshop for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Braintree. In 2000, Marie and Richard moved to Cape Cod.
Marie and Richard traveled yearly to the U.S. Virgin Islands for at least a month every winter; this is where they met some great friends from all over. Once Marie’s grandchildren were born, she and Richard went to as many school functions and sporting activities as possible. To her grandchildren, Marie was called Mimi. Family was a big part of her life.
There will be a Celebration of Life gathering to remember and celebrate Marie, date and location yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation in memory of Marie to Beacon Hospice of Hyannis. (To do so, please make checks payable to “Amedisys Foundation” and mail it to Beacon Hospice at 1060 Falmouth Rd., Hyannis, MA 02601.)
