Obituary

Limerick – Roland C. “Sonny” LePage Jr., 71, passed away unexpectedly on November 21, 2024. Born in Sanford, Maine; the son of Roland C. LePage Sr. and Beatrice L. (Libby) LePage. A life-long resident of Limerick, he attended the local schools and lived a full life of serving the community that he deeply loved.
In 1974 Sonny married his beloved wife of 50 years, Judith (Neal) LePage, and together they had two children, Deedee and Christopher.
Sonny began his own automotive business “LePage Auto” at his home garage, and in 1984 moved the business to Main Street after purchasing the property from Erland Gerry, whom he worked for through his high school years. In 2017 after partially retiring, Sonny moved the business back to his home garage and is still in operation today.
His love for the community went well past his business. He joined the Limerick Fire Department as a Jr. Fire Fighter and eventually worked his way up in the ranks and served as Chief from 1994-2010. Sonny also served on the Board of Appeals for a total of 14 years and served two terms on the Select Board from 2014-2020.
Anyone who knew Sonny AKA “Giggles” knew one of his favorite things to do was “ride the wind” when he could on his custom Harley Davidson. He also loved hanging out with family and friends talking about the good ol’ days, town politics, and “socializing” at the local town tavern, The Peppermill Restaurant. He will be forever loved, and forever missed. He truly is a legend.
He is predeceased by his parents Roland Sr. and Beatrice LePage. Sonny is survived by his wife Judy LePage, daughter Deedee Tibbetts and her husband Glenn; son Christopher LePage; granddaughters Brittney Tibbetts and Julianna Panos; grandson Jaxson LePage; sister Sandra Gerry and her husband James “Jim”; sister Nancy Woodsome and her husband Clearance “Buddy”; along with nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great great nephews and nieces.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 29th from 4:00-6:00pm at St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church, 19 Dora Lane, Limerick, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 30th also at St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Church with reception immediately following downstairs. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00pm that evening at The Peppermill Restaurant, 171 Washington Street, Limerick.
Burial will be at Highland Annex Cemetery, Limerick

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Limerick Fire/EMS.
