Obituary

Louis Ulric Coulombe, 87, resident of Milford, Connecticut entered into eternal rest on Nov. 13, 2024. Louis was born on April 11, 1937, in Bangor, Maine to the late Alfred and Julia Coulombe. Lou was later married and raised his children in Connecticut.
Louis graduated from Brunswick high school in 1955 and served in the United States Navy for the next four years. He received his bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Maine (Class of ‘61) and his master’s degree from Rutgers University.
Louis Coulombe was a strong humanitarian, lifelong student and traveler. Lou and his young family lived and taught abroad in Tanzania in East Africa. By profession Louis was a high school science teacher in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. He enjoyed physics most.
After retirement he volunteered his time to many organizations in his community. He was passionate about giving back. He was a volunteer for many years with Helping Hands for the homeless, he also worked with the courts as a mediator and advocate.
Lou was a jack of all trades and he could build or fix most anything. He enjoyed cooking, playing his guitar, riding his dirt bikes and being with family and friends. Louis was passionate about peer advocacy and leadership.
Later in life he became a Quaker which brought him great joy.
Lou is survived by his son William (Lisa) Coulombe, his daughters Renee (Klaus) ……….. and Michele Coulombe, and grandchildren Nena Coulombe, Noah and Nicole Jones, and Elijah Beaubien.
In addition to his parents Louis was predeceased by his son David Coulombe and his brother Alfred Coulombe.

Although he has left us, he will never be forgotten by the many who loved him.
A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
