Richard Aucoin, retired Police Chief for the City of Malden, passed away on November 20th. Beloved father of Laurie DiFilippo and her husband John of Lynn and Deidre Tardif and her husband Jeoff of Swampscott. Grandfather of John Jr., Sylvie, Luc and the late Caitlin. Richard was raised and educated in Malden. He is a graduate of Malden High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Suffolk University. Richard served his country honorably as a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served on the Malden Police Force for 32 years, retiring as Chief in 2002. Upon retirement, he moved to Brookline New Hampshire and worked as an Investigator for Pinkerton Security. He is a Past President of Malden Rotary, an advocate of the Malden YMCA and was an avid traveler. Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Monday November 25th from 4-7 PM.
