Joshua G. Edginton, 40, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away on Saturday, November 16 at Lowell General Hospital after complications from a lengthy battle with cancer.
He was born on November 8, 1984 in Lynn and was a son of Julie (Scott) Wedge and George F. Wedge. He was raised and educated in Lynn and Malden before moving with his family at age 12 to Tewksbury. He was a graduate of Shawsheen Technical High School with the Class of 2002.
Josh worked in the technology field, most recently as a contract analyst with Aspen Technologies of Bedford for the past 10 years. Additionally, he hosted a podcast with his closest friend, Andrew Gonzalez for several years called “8-Bit Movie Review”.
Music was his world, from an early age he took an interest and quickly learned guitar, studying at Tewksbury Music Center as his talent grew. More recently, as a member of the bands “The Change-Up” and “The World is Square”, he played acoustic guitar and bass.
Josh had a unique and infectious sense of humor and he had a natural ability to make everyone around him laugh. Even while battling cancer and in his darkest days his sarcasm never wavered and made sure everyone was always smiling, laughing and happy. He also enjoyed playing video games.
He is survived by his parents, George and Julie Wedge of Tewksbury, his brother, Jamie Edginton of Tewksbury, his aunt, Chris Moore of Huntington, various other family members and countless friends.
