With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gloria Ferguson, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 2, 2024 at the age of 101.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Gloria leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Gloria may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
Gloria (Paiva) Imondi Ferguson passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024 in Boynton Beach, FL at the age of 101. She was the widow of the late Thomas Ferguson and Vincent Imondi, Jr. She was born in Warren, RI to Eliza and John Paiva, Sr. She formerly resided in East Providence and Smithfield, RI before moving to Florida where she resided for the past 37 years.
Mrs. Ferguson is survived by her daughter, Deborah Imondi of Smithfield, RI and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her seven siblings, Mary Ramsden, Elizabeth Muoio, Agnes Huling, Isabelle Marot and Dennis, Frank and John Paiva, Jr.
She was employed for many years at Bulova Watch, The Outlet Department Store as a store detective and Mercury Mail Advertising.
Gloria was always the light in any room with her signature welcoming smile. She was an avid game show fan and a two-day winner on the original "Price is Right" in 1963, but nothing made her happier than the sights and sounds of a busy casino and sitting at a winning slot machine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be private at a later date.
