Obituary

MEREDITH ---- Viriginia “Ginny” L. McBride, 95, of Parade Road, formerly of Woodland Avenue, in Laconia, NH, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Forestview Manor, in Meredith, NH.

Ginny was born on March 23, 1929, in Haverhill, NH, the youngest of six children born to the late Frank Little and Julia (Hutchins) Little. The family relocated to Laconia in 1939. Ginny resided in Laconia the remainder of her life until moving to Meredith six years ago.

Ginny was a 1947 graduate of Laconia High School. Ginny retired from the White Mountain National Forest in 1991 as a finance clerk after working there for 20 years. Prior to that she was a keypunch operator at Scott & Williams in Laconia.

Ginny enjoyed music, dancing, shopping, and roller skating when she was a teenager. She was a lifelong fan of Frank Sinatra and country music and had made several trips to Nashville, TN. She was a fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox and would often plan her day to ensure she was home to see the game!

Ginny loved a day at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun and she and Jim would often take the bus down for a day or two of fun. She also frequented local bingo games whenever possible, often attending several bingo games in a single week!

Ginny is a past member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Lakeside Swingers Square Dance Club, and a former volunteer with Baby Threads NH.

Ginny is survived by her daughter Kathryn Decelles, of Belmont, NH; and nieces Pamela Damato, of Somerset, NJ, Sally Washington, of Keene, NH, Betsy Swinton, of Laconia, NH, and Norma Woodcome, of Atlanta, GA; and nephews Stephen Breton, of Fort Pierce, FL, Raymond Breton, of Fort Pierce, FL, and Edward O’Brien, of Defuniak Springs, FL.

In addition to her parents, Ginny is predeceased by her husband James V. McBride, sisters Pearl Eastman and Beatrice O’Brien, brothers Bernard Little, Norman Little, and Clayton Little, and son-in-law Michael Decelles.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held in Spring of 2025 at Union Cemetery, Academy Street, Laconia, NH.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Forestview Manor for the loving care and compassion given to her during the past six years.
