Anita Rachel (Dufour) Harlfinger, of Englewood, FL and North Easton, MA, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, artist, and adventurer, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024, at the age of 65. Born on April 19, 1959, in Lewiston, Maine, Anita was the cherished daughter of the late Lucia (Bolduc) and Omer Dufour.
Anita is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Harlfinger, with whom she shared a special and powerful relationship of love and family. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect, providing a foundation for their cherished family.
She was a proud and loving mother to Gary Hermanson (wife Michelle Hermanson), Dana Hermanson (wife Emily Hermanson), Linda Harlfinger-Vogel (husband Joseph Vogel), Heidi Harlfinger and the late Robert Harlfinger. She adored her grandchildren, Bryn, Carter, and Aiden Hermanson, Zachary and Samantha Vogel, Skyla Harlfinger, Matthew Harlfinger (wife Adrianne Harlfinger), Andrew Harlfinger, and Robert Harlfinger, II, and great grandchildren Evan, Eli, Gatlin, Claire and Robert Harlfinger, III, who brought immense joy to her life. In addition, she is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her siblings Marguerite Darling, Caroline Michel, Lina Dufour, Bernadette Braden, and Raymond Dufour. She was predeceased by her siblings Yvan, Normand, Mariette, and Regis. Anita's life was also enriched by her strong and loyal friends, Karen Hitt and Heidi Whalen. Their enduring friendship was a source of great support and joy for Anita.
Anita earned her bachelor's degree in art history with a minor in studio art from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. Her passion for art was evident throughout her life, as she expressed her creativity through various artistic endeavors. Her work not only reflected her talent but also her deep appreciation for beauty and culture. Anita was a member of the Venice Art Center in Florida and Massachusetts Fine Arts Museum in Boston.
Anita had a profound love for nature and travel, finding joy and inspiration in exploring new places and experiencing the wonders of the natural world. These passions brought her a deeper connection to life and added richness to her experiences.
Her faith in God was a cornerstone of her life. Anita's unwavering belief provided her with strength and comfort, guiding her through life's challenges and joys.
Anita's life was defined by her compassion and generosity. She dedicated her time and resources to causes close to her heart. Anita's warmth and kindness touched many lives. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Please join us at Conley Funeral Home located at 138 Belmont Street Brockton, MA on Saturday November 23, 2024, from 11am to 2:00 pm. A celebration of Anitas' life will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
