Worcester__Elaine A. (Barry) Serafin, 83, of Worcester, passed away peacefully Saturday November 16, 2024 in the Odd Fellows Home. Her husband of 53 years, Paul J. Serafin died in 2013.
Mrs. Serafin is survived by her 4 children, Donna Gingras and her husband Michael, Paul Serafin and his wife Ellen (Puishys), Thomas Serafin and his partner, Sarah Burns, Daniel Serafin and his wife Claudette (Goodreau); a former daughter-in-law, Faye (Gaunt) Serafin; eight grandchildren, Zachary Serafin, D.J. Serafin, Jacob Serafin, Alex Serafin, Samuel Serafin, Tyler Serafin, Courtney Gingras, and Erin Serafin, three great-grandchildren, Buddy, Tilly and Mila, a sister, Catherine O’Brien as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Barry. Elaine was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Michael “Joe” Barry and Catherine (Horgan) Barry.
Mrs. Serafin was a EKG technician and later Supervisor of the EKG Department at St. Vincent Hospital and worked there for 20 years before retiring. Elaine loved to read and spend time with family, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing in Aruba with her husband and extended family members and friends.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 with a Service at 11:00 AM in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Thursday November 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service in the funeral home.
