Obituary


Waldo A. “Wally” Lunetta, of Medford and North Fort Myers, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15th at St. Patrick's Manor. He was 93. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Joseph and Antonina (Cannizaro) Lunetta.

Wally was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War, worked as a steel fabricator and then served the City of Medford for 30 years as an officer of the Medford Police Department, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He also went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and his Master’s from Anna Maria College. Wally and his wife Anna got to enjoy 30 years of retirement down in Florida. He was a very active member of the community in North Fort Myers, where he was a frequent participant at events of the senior center. He enjoyed playing pool, cards and socializing with the many friends he and Anna made over the years.

The beloved husband of Anna M. (Pesaturo) Lunetta, he was a devoted father to Paula Lunetta of Palisades Park, CA, Gary Lunetta, Sr. and his wife Lori of Hampton, NH, and Ann Marie Lunetta and her fiancé Antonio Floro of Natick. He was a loving grandfather to Gary Lunetta, Jr., Alexa Carrozza, Michael Monaghan, Erica Moreth, and Thomas Moreth. He was a loving great grandfather to Giano Carrozza, Vincenzo Lunetta, Giavanna Lunetta, and Lucca Carrozza. Wally was a dear brother to Joe Lunetta, Frances MacGilvray and the late Carmela Arzilli.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Tuesday, November 19th from 4-8 PM and to attend his funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 20th at 11 AM. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wally's name to Saint Patrick's Manor, 863 Central St, Framingham, MA 01701.
