Retired Tewksbury Hospital Nurse
TEWKSBURY: Jeanette K. (Nilsen) Lees, age 86, a resident of Tewksbury for over 55 years, and longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chelmsford, passed away peacefully at her home in the loving care of her family on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
She was the beloved wife of Warren S. Lees, who passed away on November 16, 2012.
Jeanette was born in Boston on June 7, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Kristian Nilsen and the late Jenny Hovland Nilsen.
Jeanette was raised in Medford and graduated from Medford High School. Following high school, she attended Beth Israel Nursing School to become a Registered Nurse. Upon graduation Jeanette worked as a nurse at Beth Israel in Boston and Tewksbury State Hospital.
Jeanette is survived by her three children, Scott Lees and his wife Jen Meers, Douglas Lees and his wife Karla, and Jennifer Lees-Manseau and her husband David: four grandchildren, Kathryn, Rebecca, Nora, and Lowell Lees and her sister, Millie Hill of Hingham. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and other beloved family members.
All are invited to her memorial service to be held on Thursday, November 21st, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 170 Old Westford Road, Chelmsford. Interment of her ashes will be held at a later date at Tewksbury Cemetery.
