Audrey Ruth (Johnson) Webb – devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-
grandmother. She entered her eternal rest on November 11, 2024, at age 92. Audrey died
peacefully surrounded by her family.
Audrey was born on November 7, 1932, in Arlington, Massachusetts. She graduated from
Woburn High School. She studied physical therapy and enjoyed working at the Choate
Memorial hospital. She later worked as an office manager at the Vacuum Barrier Corporation in
Woburn, as well as for a Hall of Fame professional tennis photographer, Russ Adams.
Audrey met her husband Leo James Webb, and they married in 1955. Together they raised five
children in Woburn. She was a long-time resident of Woburn, Peabody and Tewksbury, MA.
Most recently she was a resident Ivy Hill Assisted Living in Haverhill, MA where she was well
cared for.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents John Helmer Johnson and Ella Ruth (Hoye) and
brother Harold J. Johnson of Boston. Remaining to cherish her memory are her brother Donald
S. Johnson of Windsor CT, brother Kenneth M. Johnson of Woburn, MA, sister Marilyn A.
(Johnson) Parker of Pelham, NH, sister Carol A. (Johnson) Page of Woburn, MA, daughter
Deborah A. (Webb/Woods) Burke and her husband Stephen of Old Orchard Beach, ME, son
James P. Webb and his wife Lucia of Wenham, MA, son David B. Webb and his wife Laura of
Old Orchard Beach, ME, daughter Marilyn R. Webb of Exeter, NH, son Mark K. Webb and his
wife Deborah of Old Orchard Beach, ME. She was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren
and 21 great-grandchildren and was loved by many nieces and nephews.
Audrey was an avid reader and enthusiast of all public libraries with a special interest in
educational and young reading material. She really enjoyed visiting new and different libraries in the surrounding communities. She had many hobbies and interests including a fascination for all things cranberry, rug braiding, photo books, spending time at the beach, and the Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts of America, including the Cub Scouts, for which she was a proud Den Mother. Audrey was particularly interested in travel and enjoyed trips to Bermuda and Europe including England and France. Cape Cod was one of her favorite places to visit, and she was especially fond of the beaches and plentiful cranberry bogs. She also had a special interest the Hebrew and Jewish cultures and practices. She enjoyed puzzles and was always up for a good game of scrabble with family.
A private celebration of Audrey’s life will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request supporting mental illness with your time in helping others in need or a donation to the charity of your choice in Audrey’s memory.
