Obituary

CHARLTON, MA - Mrs Evelyn (Mangano) Fede, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at UMass Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

Evelyn was born on June 28, 1931 in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary (Gallo) Mangano. She was the loving wife, of sixty-six years, to the late Dante Fede whom she lost on December 30, 2016 and dearly missed.

Evelyn was a stay-at-home mother, taking care of her three children, until 1973 when she went to work for Astra Pharmaceutical, in which she worked there for thirteen years before retiring in 1986. After retirement, Evelyn was very active in the women’s guild at Our Lady of Loretto - Mt. Carmel Church in Worcester. She continued her volunteer work by sewing Baptismal gowns for St. Bernadette’s Church in Northboro and also dedicated her time to a rosary making ministry at the Lady of Cape Parish. Evelyn greatly enjoyed making crafts and could be seen displaying her beautiful works of art at many crafts fairs.

The world lost an amazing woman who was the most caring, loving, compassionate, and generous soul. She was an angel on earth and was loved by all who were lucky enough to meet her. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and we were so lucky to have called her ours. She will be truly missed by all.

She is survived by her three daughters, Paula Krager and her husband Kenneth, Nancy Rajecki, and Patricia Lepizzera and her husband Frank; ten grandchildren, Melissa Higbie and her husband Josh, Sara Rajecki, Jennifer Adams and her husband Woody, Daniel Rajecki, Amy Krager, Michael Krager and his wife Alyssa, Heather Giguere and her husband Michael, Victoria Carroll and her husband Jason, Ashley Haggerty and her husband Michael, and Jaime Therrien and her husband Ryun; fifteen great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was predeceased by her sisters, Lucy Gerardi, Francis Abato, and Dorothy Minish as well as her brother, Salvatore Mangano.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Church, located at 10 H Putnam Road Extension, Charlton, MA 01507 from 9am to 10am. Her funeral mass will then follow at 10am. Interment will be located at Mountain View Cemetery, located at 22 Boylston Street, Shrewsbury, MA, 01545.
