April 17, 1951 – November 5, 2024
Luis Angel “Tite” Nieves Ramos, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Born on April 17, 1951, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, he was the beloved son of the late Luis Felix Nieves and Carmen Maria Ramos. Growing up in a military family, Tite’s life journey took him across the globe, from Puerto Rico to various states in the U.S., including New Jersey, New York, and Oklahoma, and even to Germany, where he experienced many cultures and communities.
A man of quiet strength and devotion, Tite was a dedicated and faithful member of the Candelero De Oro church on Central Street in Lowell, where he worshiped for many years and built lasting friendships.
Known for his love of staying informed, Tite found joy in reading the newspaper and watching the news, particularly when it came to sports and politics. His passion for these topics often sparked thoughtful conversations with those around him. In his work, he spent time in the kitchens of local nursing homes, where he offered warmth and care to the residents he served.
Tite leaves behind his cherished daughter, Iliana Nieves Ramos of Lowell, and his beloved grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sister, Carmen M. Nieves of Houston, Texas. He was predeceased by his son, Luis Antonio Nieves Ramos, and his brother, Juan Antonio Nieves.
Tite’s family and friends will remember him as a gentle soul with a deep love for family, faith, and community.
At his request, there will be no planned funeral services.
