Aurelia Williams
October 28, 1927 – November 11, 2024
Aurelia Constance Kathleen Williams (age 97)- was born on October 28, 1927 in Bridgwater, Somerset England to Albert Henry and Sarah Anne Witts. When she was young, she worked at Marks and Spencer in Bridgwater. She met her future husband, Everett Hershel Williams, when he was stationed in her home town during WWII. He preceded her in transitioning to the other side in 1969. After WWII, they came back to the United States where she and her husband initially lived in the small town of Shirley, Indiana. At a later point they moved to Anderson. At that time Aurelia worked in plant 6 of Delco Remy. She left there when she gave birth to their only child, Elaine.
Due to the early death of Aurelia’s husband, she had to return to the workforce. After additional training she became a Respiratory Therapist at Community Hospital. As time continued her work began to focus more on cardiac testing and she became a Cardiac Clinical Specialist. She didn’t retire from her work until the age of 81. Aurelia just seemed to have a natural inner strength, and trusted that God would take care of her. Even though she had a good life, there were times of hardship. In addition to living close to WWII in England, she left her own country at a young age to start a new life not knowing if she would ever see her family again. She dealt with the death of her husband at a young age, and the need to find employment to support her little family, which led to a whole new career. Later in life she recovered from two types of cancer. It seemed that her inner attitude was simply that if a challenge was placed in front of her she just needed to address it straight forward. She always had a positive outlook on the situations that she encountered in life. She always had the strong belief that God would take care of her. She often encouraged others by simply saying that everything would work out when the time came.
Aurelia’s legacy is carried on now by her daughter, Elaine, as well her grandchildren, Melissa and Joshua, great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Evan, and great great grandchildren, Ronin, Amaya and Kaiya. She also has several family members still in England and in other countries, as well as nieces and nephews in the United States.
She was preceded in transitioning to the other side by her husband, Everett Hershel Williams, and by her parents, and by all of her siblings, Doug, Marjorie, Betty, Roy, Eric and Alf.
