CHICOPEE – Jeannine M. (Deshaies) Landry, 84, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Friday, November 8, 2024. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Torrington, Connecticut on November 10, 1939, a beloved daughter of the late Ronald H. and Noella M. (Houle) Deshaies. She was raised and educated in Holyoke and moved to the Aldenville section of Chicopee where she lived the remainder of her life. She was last employed as in the Receiving Department at Bradlees Department Store at the former Fairfield Mall in Chicopee. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee where she was a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne. She was also a member of the Franco American Womens Club. She took great pride in tending to her beautiful flowers gardens at her home but most especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Norman R. “Sam/Red” Landry who was Called Home on January 5, 2021. They were married at Precious Blood Church in Holyoke on November 11, 1961 and were blessed with over 59 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving daughter, Sandra M. Maroney and her husband, Keith, and her loving son, Kevin D. Landry, all of Chicopee; her two cherished grandchildren, Erin Caulmare and her husband, Colby, of Fort Irwin, CA and Blaize Landry and his companion, Hannah Conroy, of Chicopee; her dear sister, Mary-Ann Aubuchon and her husband, Gerald, of Chicopee; her dear brother, Ronald Deshaies and his wife, Agnes, of Easthampton; her three dear sisters-in-law, Claudette Deshaies and Shirley Darsch, both of Chicopee, and Millie Deshaies of Lancaster, OH; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her four dear brothers, Lawrence Deshaies and his wife, Jeannette “Jean”, Norman Deshaies, and Raymond Deshaies and his wife, Helen, and Paul Deshaies; and her dear sister, Doris Bushey. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
