Obituary

BUXTON- David “Dave” William Ouellette, age 68, November 9, 2024 at Gosnell
Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine, passed away after a brief but
heroic struggle with cancer.
Dave was born in Biddeford, Maine on December 28th 1955 and was the son of
William W. Ouellette and Hazel P. Ouellette. After graduating from Biddeford High
School, Dave enlisted in the US Army as a Cavalry Scout where he served from
1975 to 1979 in the Second Battalion of the 77th Field Artillery Regiment. Dave was
honorably discharged on February 1st 1979. During his four year enlistment he
spent three years in Germany. Returning to the US, he married Janice L. Camire on
April 26, 1980. Together they share two wonderful children, Chad A. Ouellette and
Angelique R. Robinson.
For two decades Dave worked at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine.
After his early retirement he briefly worked for General Dynamics in Saco, Maine.
Dave was a Master Mason for the Masonic Lodge in Buxton, and proudly served
his community for thirty years. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, four-
wheeling, snowmobiling, and more.
Dave’s love of motorcycles led him to become President of the United Bikers of
Maine. He opened a new branch named Rolling Thunder Chapter 2. Later in life,
Dave’s need for speed led him to drag racing, where he spent countless hours
working on, preparing, and talking about the next race. In 2024, Dave was awarded
“most improved” from New Oxford Dragway. Dave’s final ride was his beloved
1968 Chevy Nova DO55, which will continue to race in his honor driven by Zachary
Shaw, his grandson, who encouraged him to get involved in drag racing.
Nothing brought a smile to Dave’s face faster than his grand children. His love for
animals was nearly as deep. Dave always looked forward to visiting his daughter
and son in law, Angel and Andy Robinson, on the Robinson family farm in Enfield,
Maine. One of Dave’s final requests was to spend his last days in Enfield. God had
other plans, but as heaven receives him with open arms, we know he is looking
down upon his family and the farm and lake he loved in Enfield.
Dave is survived by his wife Janice L. (Camire) Ouellette, his son Chad and his wife Erica, his daughter Angel and her husband Andy, his grandchildren Alexis Shaw, Zachary Shaw, Kaden Shaw, and
Taven Ouellette, his sisters Hilda and Barbara, as well as many extended family
and friends.

to support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
