Cebirt “Skippy” M. O’Harrah, Jr., 90, of Cherry Tree, PA died on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Sun Valley Acres Personal Care Home in Glen Campbell, PA 15742.
The son of Cebirt M. and Florence “Marie” (Heinlen) O’Harrah, Sr., he was born at 7:15 p.m. on June 28, 1934 in Akron, OH.
Skippy was a member of the Montgomery Township High School Class of 1954. He served in the U.S. Army for a short time until he received a hardship discharge to come home and run the family farm.
He spent his life working hard as a dairy cow and cattle farmer on his family farm in Montgomery Twp., Indiana Co., PA. Skippy also sold hamburger meat.
For one year of his life he worked on the Cleveland, OH docks.
Skippy was hardworking and enjoyed fishing. He delighted in spending time sharing stories, memories and humorous anecdotes with his many friends over the years.
He is survived by his good friend, Marianne Enama of Westover, PA, who devoted countless hours to his happiness and health, as well as friends: Joe Gerhard of Pittsburgh, PA; Jack Hazelet of Indiana, PA and Peggy R. Webster of OH and cousins: Roy Heinlen and wife Zane of TX; Sarge McGuire and wife Susan of PA and Jay OHarra and wife Larista of PA.
Skippy was preceded in death by his father on July 9, 1963; his mother on November 22, 1983 and his step-sister, Flora “Sis” Morse.
Family and friends will be received from 4-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where a 1:00 p.m. funeral service will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 with Ron Westover speaking. Interment will be at Rowley Cemetery in Hillsdale, PA.
