SALEM, NH: Ronald H. Johnson, age 91, an avid saltwater fisherman, and resident of Salem, NH for the past 3 years, passed away peacefully at his niece’s home in Andover in the care of his family and hospice on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 15, 1933, he was the son of the late Robert F. Johnson and the late Martina (Roy) Johnson. Ronald was raised in the Queens area of New York and attended local schools.

In 1951 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War era with the 806th Supply Squadron.

Following his honorable discharge from active duty, he settled in Copiague, Long Island, New York where he lived for many years until moving to Salem, NH in 2021 to be close to family.

While living in Salem, NH, he became an active member of the Salem, NH Senior Center, where he enjoyed numerous activities and social gatherings. He never missed a Bingo game or corn hole tournament.

Ronald is the brother of Marilyn M. Dippel and her husband Richard, of Salem, NH and the late Robert Johnson.

In addition to his sister, he is survived by his niece Colette and her husband Joseph, nephew Gregg and his wife Beth, great nieces Brittany and husband Dinesh, Christine and fiance Keenan, Michelle and husband Austin, and great nephew and “pal” Ryan, as well as many many friends.

Calling hours are Sunday, November 10th, from 3-6 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, MA. His funeral procession will begin on Monday, November 11th, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover, MA. Interment services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12th at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Tunnels to Towers at www.t2t.org
