Alisa Anne McDonough, age 53, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, October 31, 2024. Born in Los Angeles, California on January 28, 1971, Alisa was the beloved daughter of the late Bernardo and Maryann (Viglas) Nova. She spent her early years in Somerville, Massachusetts, where she later attended Somerville High School. Alisa’s dedication to learning inspired her to pursue further education, ultimately earning an associate degree later in life. She spent much of her life in Southern New Hampshire, most recently residing in Milford.
Alisa was a spirited woman with a deep love for rock and roll, especially the music of Ann Wilson and Heart. She was an avid fan of penguins and enjoyed the simple pleasure of word games, with Wordle being a favorite. Her friends and family cherished her for her warmth, compassion, and unwavering kindness. Known affectionately as “Frammie,” a heartfelt blend of “Friend” and “Grammie,” Alisa held a special place in the hearts of many.
Her life was dedicated to fostering a supportive and loving community, and she worked tirelessly to build a network of friends who cared deeply for Riley, her special girl, who was at the center of Alisa’s world. She embodied the spirit of community, ensuring that both she and Riley were surrounded by a “village” that would always be there for them.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jennifer and Amanda McDonough of Boston; her beloved Riley; her siblings; her sisters-in-law Maura McDonough and her wife Christine Jablonski of Tyngsboro, and Martha McDonough of Derry; and her nieces and nephews, Ryan, Kevin, Michael, and Haley. Alisa was predeceased by her former husband, Brian Philip McDonough, with whom she shared many memories.
On Wednesday November 13, 2024, you are invited to her memorial visitation from 2pm until 7pm at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA.
