WEBSTER – Michael J. “Mike” Kustak, 75, entered eternal rest with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on November 5, 2024 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on September 17, 1949 in Stoke-on-Trent, England, the son of Walter and Rozalia (Pyra) Kustak and came to this country at age 7. He graduated from Bartlett High School and in 1974 married Lou Ann J. Berry. He held different jobs and then worked at Life Skills, a workshop for the mentally challenged, for 32 years.
At different times in his life he experienced health issues but always persevered, never gave up, and kept a bright outlook. He always wanted to help and encourage others.
Throughout his earlier years, he would join his wife at various churches participating in nursing home ministry, singing hymns and sharing the Bible. He loved to stay active: walking, lifting weights, and being disciplined in his eating habits. His quick wit and personality always made people comfortable.
Michael leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Lou Ann J. Kustak; his children, Michael and his fiancée Sherry of Worcester and grandsons, Kyle of Sturbridge and Christopher of Webster; his daughter, “daddy’s little girl” Angela Feliciano and her boyfriend Jeff of Dudley and grandson Miguel and his girlfriend Jessica of Webster; and a great-grandson, Mylo. Additionally, he leaves a sister Arlene and her husband Donald Grandmont of Florida; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces.
Memorial calling hours will be held Friday, November 15 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to either the American Lung Association, 1661 Worcester Road, Suite 301, Framingham, MA 01701 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
