Gene Maynard

Lowell - Gene Maynard, 78, of South Paris, ME, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Market Square Health Care Center. A devoted husband, Gene was married to his beloved wife, Catherine (Allen) Maynard, for nearly 50 years until her passing in 2019. Together, they built a life filled with love and resilience.
Born on August 6, 1946, in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, Gene spent his formative years in Reading, Woburn, and Lowell. He attended Woburn schools and went on to graduate from the North Bennett Industrial School in Boston, where he honed his craft and prepared for a career of skilled work.
Gene’s early years in carpentry were marked by his dedication to building and creating with his hands, a passion he later carried with him into his work as a machine operator. He brought this same commitment to Hewlett-Packard and Digital, where he spent many years before health challenges led to his retirement. Gene’s quiet strength and work ethic were hallmarks of his character.
He was a member of Tewksbury Rod and Gun club where he met many life long friends, and enjoyed sharing his stories of fishing with his two sons in Pittsburgh, NH where almost no fish were ever caught.
He is survived by his two sons, Timothy Maynard and his wife Wendy and two grand children Aedan and Celeste of Berlin, NH, and Peter Maynard and his long time girlfriend Alycia Lewis of Sicklerville, New Jersey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Gene’s wishes, his burial will be held privately.
