Charlotte E. DiFronzo retired peacefully at her home in Woburn on November 1
surrounded by her family . She was born in 1940 to the late Charles and Pearl E. (Jones)
Rand being the middle child between her older brothers Alan and Lance (both deceased)
and her beloved sister Carol and brother Sam. They grew up in the Fulton Heights
neighborhood of Medford as members of the Community Baptist Church and maintained
a close family throughout their days.
Charlotte was the loving wife of the late Louis DiFronzo for over 63 years and they
raised their three children together in South Medford before moving to Middleton thirty
years ago. Charlotte was a devoted mother to her three children Susan Hayes, Louis
DiFronzo, Jr., and Charles DiFronzo. Charlotte’s life work was to take care of her
family, and her cooking and hosting of all family and friends both in her home and at the
Camp in Northwood NH was epic and has become lore. All were made to feel special
and welcome in her presence. Throughout her time supporting a family, she worked as a
banquet waitress, a bookkeeper, and then as a real estate professional. She made many
friends and enriched many lives along her journey with her enduring kindness and spirit.
Charlotte found beauty in the world, which she expressed in her paintings, her gardening,
and her cooking. She enjoyed exploring the branches of her family tree and documenting
family history. She was a daughter, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt, a
cousin and a friend to so many. She was a loving mother-in-law to Cathy DiFronzo,
Johnna DiFronzo, and Joe Hayes, the grandmother to Maria Marquardt, Michelle Hayes,
Devyn DiFronzo, Olivia DiFronzo, Michael DiFronzo, Matthew DiFronzo, Jake
DiFronzo, and Nicholas DiFronzo who were all the joy of her life. She was forever
appreciative of her wonderful care team at MGH who essentially completed a medical
miracle by working with Charlotte to defeat cancer and allowed Charlotte to experience a
whole other extra stage of life and was grateful for all the compassion and care that came
her way. She paid it forward and then some by giving her love to all who knew her. She
often quoted scripture and was quick to remind us all that, “Every day is a gift” and to
love one another.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a graveside service at the Puritan Lawn
Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 11AM when
Charlotte will be laid to rest with her husband and alongside her mom.
In lieu of flowers, Charlotte asked that donations be made to The Leukemia and
Lymphoma Society.
