Alice “Alana” (Rights) Hoffman, age 95, passed away on October 31, 2024 at Ledgewood Rehab and Skilled Nursing Home in Beverly, MA. She was born on August 7, 1929, in Camden, NJ, daughter of the late Theodore B. and Alice (Mac Dermott) Rights. She is predeceased by her kind and loving husband Jerre W. Hoffman who passed away in June 2005. She is survived by her three children, Alana (Bobbie) Ortiz husband Jose Ortiz (deceased May 2021) of Seaside, CA, Jerre D Hoffman and his wife Patricia of Chicopee and Matthew Hoffman and his wife Kathleen of Beverly; six grandchildren, Alana Maria (Nene) Balseiro, Laura Angelica (Lole) Ortiz, Jeremiah.(Zack) Hoffman, Dane Hoffman, Travis Hoffman and Matthew Hoffman along with two great grandchildren, Madelynn (Maddie) Hoffman and Lorenzo (Lolo) Balseiro. Alice was a member the First Church of Christ in Longmeadow, the Springfield Garden Club and the Democratic Committee in Longmeadow. She was an avid swimmer, enjoying the lap pool at the JCC and Lake Owassa NJ in her youth and Otis Reservoir after the family moved to Longmeadow. She delivered meals for Meals on Wheels for many years. She loved to travel and was an avid collector and creative artist and crafter. Her only regret in life? Not living long enough to see Donald Trump heading to jail in an orange prison jumpsuit. A prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam on Friday, November 8th 2024. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
