Nancy I. (Souza) Farias, 84, of Dartmouth unexpectedly passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 at home. She was the wife of the late Joseph Farias, Jr.
Mrs. Farias was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Albino Souza, Jr. and the late Ida Mae (Towers) Souza. She grew up in Tiverton and had resided in Dartmouth since the late 60's. Nancy was very active with the DYSA and the Dartmouth Boosters when her boys were young. Nancy loved flowers and gardening, making sure her garden looked beautiful every Spring and summer. She enjoyed baking Christmas cookies every year, reading, the Hallmark channel, and spending time with her friends, family, and most especially, her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children: Jeffrey Farias and his wife Tammy Patrick of MD, Lauren Meatty and her husband David of Dartmouth, Christopher Farias of Norwell, Jay Farias and his significant other Mari Womack of Seattle, WA; 9 grandchildren: Jake Meatty, Max Farias, Justin Farias, Thomas Farias, Matthew Farias, Serena Farias, Spencer Farias and Alexandra Farias and predeceased by Jason Farias;along with many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Potter Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M.
Memorial visitation will be Saturday from 2-3:00 P.M., prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
