Obituary

Ralph Fulton Cobb, 79, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Crisp Reginal Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Rick Ellis officiating. The interment will follow in the Evergreen cemetery in Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Cobb was born April 16, 1945, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Ralph Dooley and Susie Cobb. Mr. Cobb served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war era. He was an Auto Body and Collison Instructor and career counselor at Ben Hill Irwin Tech, as well as East Central Technical College. He was a successful business owner in the automotive repair industry. He enjoyed country music and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and adored his pets. Mr. Cobb was a member of Cornerstone Church where he loved his Lord and faithfully served him as a Sunday school Teacher and Deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra “Sandy” Cobb of Fitzgerald; three daughters: Sherry Stokes & Chris, Lisa Streat & Johnny Jr., and Kari Drexler & Danny all of Fitzgerald; six grandchildren: Christa McCauley & Wesley, Grace Streat, Mary Clair Streat, Shelby Drexler, Anna Streat - Spires & Kodie, and Kole Drexler; one great grandchild, K.J. Spires; a sister, Virginia Cox, and a brother, James Brady; a sister in-law, Wanda Stanford; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his father and mother in-law, Inez and Bill Palmer, and his grandmother who raised him, Fannie Cobb.
