Obituary

If you asked Tammy Boucher what were the three most important things to her in life, she would answer with the same three words: Family, Family, Family. Yes, if you knew Tammy, there was really only one thing that mattered most.
Tammy A. Boucher, 55, of Woonsocket passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at home. Tammy is and will forever be the loving wife of Stephen A. Boucher. Steve and Tammy were married on August 15, 1998. Tammy and Steve were two kids in love. That bond of love, devotion, and commitment only grew deeper and deeper over the past 26 wonderful years that they shared together.
Tammy was born and raised in Woonsocket. She attended Woonsocket schools and was a lifelong resident of the city. Tammy was employed in her earlier years in the Human Resources Department at CVS Corporate Headquarters in Woonsocket.
Tammy was a devoted wife and mother. Her family and their activities were at the center of her life. She had a soft spot in her heart for all animals and was a proud “dog mom” to Lexi, who she most certainly considered part of the family.
Tammy courageously battled cancer for the past 10 years. She fought the cancer off upon her initial diagnosis and after that she made the most of each and every day; always remembering to say “I love you” to those most important in her life, appreciating every day as a gift, and not sweating the small stuff. When the cancer came back a few years ago, Tammy again stepped into the ring and fought with every ounce of the strength and tenacity that lay beneath her quiet and unassuming exterior. She put up “one hell of a fight,” and due to her tenaciousness she held the cancer at bay for another few years. Tammy faced the past few months with the trademark sense of grace and peacefulness that defined her life.
Tammy will forever be remembered for her love and kindness by all those who were lucky to be a part of her life.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Stephen, and their two children; her son Zachary Boucher and his wife Karlene of Woonsocket, and her daughter Kelsey Boucher of Providence. Tammy’s heart could barely contain her love for her two grandchildren, Jacob and Charlotte.
Tammy is the daughter of Gary Lee Jackson and his wife Viola of Mesa, Arizona, and Yvonne Wodomansee Phaneuf and her husband Paul Phaneuf of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Tammy is also survived by her extended family: including her step-sisters Wendy and Tracy of Arkansas, and Holly Ayala of Arizona; her aunts, uncles and cousins, including her special and close aunt, Donna Woodmansee of North Carolina.
Everyone is welcome to gather to honor, remember, and celebrate Tammy’s life and legacy at visiting hours on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. A prayer service will be held during visiting hours.
