"The best-looking guy in Medford” Michael P. Lydon of Medford, MA, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the age of 61 years old after a long battle with MS and other health complications. Michael was the beloved husband of Diana (DiDomenico) Lydon of 31 years. Born in Stoneham, he was the cherished son of the late Paul and Elizabeth “Betty” (Ferullo) Lydon.
Michael was the most loving and devoted father of Michael Sal Lydon of Medford and Erika Lydon, her boyfriend Anthony Flores, and their “son” Buster of Medford. He was the dear brother of Paul J. Lydon Jr. and his life partner Shelley Tragar of Warwick, RI, and the late Robert M. Lydon. Michael was the loving uncle to his nieces, Ashley and Jacqueline. He was also the loving brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to many others.
Michael was employed by Verizon for many years where he enjoyed socializing and taking breaks. He enjoyed watching and cheering on all the Boston professional sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox. For those who knew him, Michael was known for having a big friendly, and funny personality. He had many great sayings including, “You chicks dig me”, “best-looking guy in Medford”, and his all-time favorite, “It’s not a goodbye, it's see you later”. Above all, he loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. Michael’s biggest accomplishment in life if you were to ask him would be his children. He devoted his life to taking care of and supporting his children. Michael enjoyed going to their sports games and was always their biggest fan. Just spending time with family and friends brought great joy to his life. Michael may have left us but as he would say, it’s not a goodbye, it’s see you later.
