Obituary

DiPlacido, Bruno 85 of Dedham, passed away on October 31st of 2024.

Bruno DiPlacido was born on December 6, 1938 in Sulmona, Abruzzo, a beautiful, mountainous town in central Italy. At the age of 20, Bruno left his home and family in Sulmona to start a life in the United States of America. Though Bruno and his wife, Rosa (DiCenso) DiPlacido, were both from the same town in Italy, the couple would only meet in the North End once they had both moved to Boston. The two of them went on to wed and move to Dedham, Massachusetts where they would spend the next 59 years together. Bruno worked as a meat cutter to support Rosa and their three children: Bruno Jr., Daniele, and Marco. Alongside his work as a meat cutter, Bruno enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and most of all spending time with his family.
Bruno was predeceased by his brothers Nino and Angelo DiPlacido. He is survived by his wife Rosa, his sons Bruno Jr. and his wife Laura of Westborough, Daniele and his wife Ciarna of Medfield, Marco and his wife Ashley of Waltham, and his grandchildren Justin, Matthew, David, John, and Alana.

Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham on Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 4-8pm. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 10:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
