Jeanne E. McWilliams, 87, of Thornton Avenue, Smithfield, died Thursday, October 31, 2024 with her family by her side at her home. She was the widow of Daniel J. McWilliams who died in October 2015. They had been married for 60 years at the time of his death.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Guy M. and Anna A. (Caron) Gagnier. She had lived in Smithfield since 1974.
Jeanne had worked as the office manager at Smithfield Chiropractic since 1992. She loved spending time with her family, especially when everyone got together at her home, as home is where she was most comfortable. She was an avid reader of fiction novels, and always enjoyed seeing which new books the local library would have for her. In previous years, she enjoyed seeing live shows at the Providence Performing Arts Center, including her favorites, CATS and Les Miserables.
Jeanne is survived by her children: Jean M. Desrosiers and her husband, Richard of Coventry, Maureen A. Morel and her husband, Keith of West Warwick, Cathleen S. Bonetti and her husband, Michael of Warwick and Christine G. Gould and her husband, Christopher of North Smithfield, her grandchildren: Timothy Morel and his fiancee, Rachel Aiello, Nicholas Morel, Bradley Gould, Meghan Gould and her fiance, Dariusz Puzanowski, and her sister, Muriel Derosier. She was the sister of the late Guy Gagnier and Anne Mullery.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 9am from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am in St. Michael’s Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be Monday, November 4, 2024 in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Michael’s Church.
