LIMINGTON- William “Bill” L. Pride, age 80, passed away on October 29, 2024, in Scarborough, Maine, surrounded by his family.
He was born April 28, 1944, to parents Ruth (Gammon) and Eugene Pride in Lewiston, Maine.
He joined the Army Reserves and served for 4 years. Following his time in the service, he later proudly owned and operated Pride’s Small Engines and Pride’s Construction along with his Wife at that time Linnette. Next at Darryl Hubbard Construction and his latest place of employment Blue Rock Industries which later became Pike Industries where he managed the Varney Mills pit. He was proud to work as a heavy machinery operator for many years.
He always enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, hunting and fishing. He was a long-time member of the Limington Crankers snowmobile Club where he served as The Trail Master and President along the way. He always loved country music and going to the “Dance” on Saturday nights.
He was a very outgoing and social person who was loved by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Gene B. Pride of Florida, and his half-brothers Ira Allen of Tennessee and Abner Allen of Norway along with his half-sister Joan Tucker of Rumford.
He is greatly missed and survived by his sons- Andrew Pride and his wife Kelly of Standish, and Troy Pride of Limington, his grandchildren-Shana Webb and boyfriend David Tally, Deja Peppers and Fiancé Aaron Rowe, Ben Pride and wife Courtney Pride, Adam Pride and Fiancé Sydney Wilson, and Lauren Pride and boyfriend Dustin Lafoe, his great-grandchildren-Dakota Webb, Phoenix Wescott, Rory Rowe and Huxley Rowe and his siblings- Karen Goodwin of Oxford, Trudy Durgin of Norway, Ruthie Upton of Norway, Gloria Dorey of Rumford Point, and Rhonda Tibbetts of Norway.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9th from 11 AM - 1 PM, followed by a 1 PM service at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. Pastor Will Rankin will officiate. A reception will follow at Skip's Lounge in Buxton.
