Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON- Russell A. Almstrom, Sr., 84, formerly of Hartwell St. died Tuesday, August 1 in West Roxbury VA Hospital. His wife of 55 years, Ellen M. (Byhman) Almstrom died in 1998. He leaves a son, Russell A. Almstrom, Jr. of Holden, two daughters, Janice E. Rampsi of Worcester and Sandra L. Olson of Boylston, two sisters, Ruth Almstrom and Gladys Noyes both of New Hampshire, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren nephews and nieces.

He was born in Worcester, son of Ragnor and Agnes (Stevens) Almstrom and attended Worcester Boys Trade. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Almstrom was a self employed auto salesman and mechanic at Almstrom Garage in West Boylston for 30 years, retiring in 1994.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 3 at 11:00 AM in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Central Mass Shelter for Homeless Veterans, 69 Grove St., Worc., MA 01605.
