Judith A. Weber
Stonington — Judith A. (Bogue) Weber, 85, passed away Oct. 20, 2024, in her home after a hard-fought battle with heart disease and emphysema.
She was born Jan. 23, 1939, in New London, to the late Herbert L. Bogue and Catherine (Herman) Bogue of Mystic. Judy grew up in Mystic and attended the Mystic Academy and then Robert E. Fitch High School. She was a member of the reunion committee for the class of 1957.
Judy is survived by two daughters, Holly Main of Pawcatuck, and Wanda (Michael) Breidinger of North Stonington; seven grandchildren, Gretchen (Jonathan) Werrlein, Jessica Houlihan, Sunny Houlihan, Paul Houlihan, Christopher McCord, Emily McCord, Morgan (Christian) Lohman; five great-grandchildren, Ally, Ella, Cameron, Finn, and Ozzie; a brother, Richard L. (Carol) Bogue; her beloved Havanese dog Yankee Doodle; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Raymond Robert Weber Jr., who passed away in 1974; and her longtime companion Alfred E. Shafer.
Mrs. Weber was well known in North Stonington as the school’s “Hot Lunch Lady”, where she put her cooking skills to good use for many years serving the students of Wheeler
After retirement she joined the Red Hat Society, volunteered at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, and served on committees at the First Baptist Church in North Stonington, of which she was a dedicated member since 1975. She took great pleasure in her work with several committees, including the American Baptist Women’s Group, the Diaconate, Fellowship, and the Annual Chicken Barbecue.
Judy took pride in her home and gardens. She enjoyed vacationing in warm places. She loved gathering her family together for holidays and vacations. She always made it special with delicious foods, decorations, games and gifts.
Thank you to her favorite doctor of over 30 years, Dr. John Beauchamp. Thank you to her many caregivers and hospice for making it possible to stay in her own home when her illness progressed.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A Graveside Service will be held at Noon Sunday, Nov. 3, in Pendleton Hill Cemetery, located behind First Baptist Church, Pendleton Hill Road, North Stonington. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center or to First Baptist Church.
