He is survived by his son, Justin Karoway-Waterhouse and his wife, Robin of Worcester; his daughter, Natalia Karoway-Waterhouse, and her husband, Adam Mills of Warwick, RI; his son, Ian Karoway-Waterhouse of Shrewsbury; his former wife, Juliana Karoway; his sisters, Linda and Cindy; a close cousin, Jean, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Born in Nashua, NH, to Roger Waterhouse and Arline Gamache, Bruce worked as a technician for Intel Corporation for many years before retiring due to illness.
Bruce was a man who embraced life’s simple pleasures. He had a deep love for Rock and Roll and Blues music, often playing harmonica and guitar. Known for his signature cowboy hat and his Taurus tattoo, which reflected his unique style and personality, Bruce lived with passion. One of his favorite memories was attending the iconic Woodstock Music Festival in 1969, a testament to his lifelong love for music.
He loved the ocean and family vacations to Horseneck Beach. Growing up, Bruce enjoyed playing basketball and fishing, activities that shaped his childhood. A lifelong Boston sports fan, he reveled in the success of his favorite teams, capped off by seeing the Celtics win one more championship over the summer.
During his time at The Christopher House, Bruce was fortunate to have the friendship of his roommate, Mark, whose companionship brought comfort in his final days. Despite many health problems, he maintained a positive attitude and a vibrant sense of humor until the end. His warm, kindhearted spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the staff of Christopher House for their excellent care.
There will be a private memorial service to honor his life.
