Mildred A. Thornton, 83, of Serrel Sweet Roadin Johnston, formerly a secretary for the Henry W. Cooke Company, died Sunday July 30, 2006 at Hopkins Manor, North Providence. Widowed since 1993 after 52 years of marriage, she was the wife of the late Albert H. Thornton, Sr.
Born in Providence, daughter of the late George T. and Ada (Hardman) Neary, she had been a resident of Johnston nearly her entire life.
She is survived by her children, Albert H. Thornton, Jr., Esq. of North Scituate and Pamela E. Hodgkins of
East Greenwich. She is also survived by
five grandchilden and twelve great grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes, visitation is omitted and the funeral will be private.
