Obituary

WELLS- Wells- It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved mother Deborah(Lord) Ham.

Debbie passed away on October 22, 2024, 3 weeks after her beloved husband of 60 years, Dickie. Our dad died September 20, from cancer and we believe Mom died of a broken heart along with kidney and lung failure while in ICU at York Hospital.

Debbie was born in Biddeford, ME on November 24, 1948, daughter of the late Philip Lord, Sr. and the late Emily (Brooks) Butler.

Debbie grew up in Kennebunk and would tells us tons of (trouble) shenanigans that she and her childhood/life long bestie, Jimmy LeBarge would get into. One of the many stories that was told, was that they(Jimmy and others) pretended to be Diana Ross and the Supremes on the front steps of the Kennebunk Library, another one, they would climb into Bowdoin’s Drug Store display windows and act like mannequins until customers would go tell Warren Bowdoin that there’s kids in the windows. Mom was always the life of the party and our friends loved hanging out with her. She was the best/fun mom.

Debbie was also the best grammy! There was never a day that went by she didn’t brag about all 5 of her beautiful grandchildren; Beth Jackson, Heather, Haley and Robey. Her grandbabies were her life.

Mom is celebrating in heaven with her beloved husband Dickie, her very special grandmother, Carrie Brooks; mother, Emily(Brooks) Butler; stepdad Ben Butler; brother, Phil Lord, Jr.; sister Amber(Lord) Beal; nephew, Christapher Butler; cousin, Gregory Brooks; aunt and uncle, Eleanor(Brooks) and Dickie Leech.

Debbie is survived by her son; Scott and girlfriend Lisa, daughters; Dianna and Jennifer (Ham) Barbour and her husband Thomas. 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. 2 sisters; Phyllis (Lord) Barker and Bonnie Butler, 2 brothers; Ben and Steven Butler. And her very special cousins; Bette (Leech) Beyea, Gary and Craig Leech.

Celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 7th, 4-9pm at Village By the Sea in Wells. Please join us in celebrating both Debbie and Dickie. We miss them so much!
