Leatha "Lee" Farnell Lathrop passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2024 at the age of 76. She was born in Shreveport, LA to the late Virginia Lout and Edgar P. Farnell of Stonington, CT. She was raised by her grandparents Hope (Zeller) Farnell and Noyes Farnell in Stonington from a very young age with her sister Dara while her father served in the war becoming a Colonel, decorated bomber pilot, attorney and a JAG. She graduated from Stonington High School.
She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Molly Lathrop Connor, as well as her parents. She is survived by her sister Dara Farnell Karas of Pawcatuck, her devoted partner, Vivian Chopelas, and cherished nieces, nephews and extended family members and longtime friends.
She moved to Bedford, MA over 50 years ago, where with her entrepreneurial spirit, she founded Lathrop Home Health Care, reflecting her compassion to help others.
Lee loved her many years of spending time on the ocean with countless family fun on Sandy Point. She loved to water ski, ride and show horses and loved all animals ~ especially cats. She also loved to play golf, garden, and travel.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, at 11:30am at Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
