Paul A. DeAngelo, Sr., 82

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Paul A. DeAngelo, Sr., age 82, a resident of the Village at Willow Crossings in Mansfield, formerly of Norton and Billerica passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Hope Health Hospice Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Carol A. (Hickey) DeAngelo, to whom he was wed for fifty-one years at the time of her death on November 15, 2020.

Born in Boston, MA on August 28, 1942, he was a loving son of the late Nick and Rosina (Lerio) DeAngelo.

Paul grew up in the South End of Boston and was a graduate of Everett High School. During the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp. Following four years of active duty, he was honorably discharged on October 17, 1966 with the rank of Sergeant (E-5).

Paul had made his home at Willow Crossings for the past 4 ½ years. He formerly lived on Godfrey Drive in Norton for 4 years and prior to that for many years in Billerica. Prior to retiring Mr. DeAngelo was employed as a Machine Operator at AMF Optics in Woburn.

A devout Catholic, Paul was always happiest when in the presence of his adoring family, whom he loved dearly. He was a member of the Woburn Sportsman’s Association and will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity. Paul had a special talent for making beaded keepsakes and received so much pleasure giving his handmade gifts to others. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his devoted son, Paul A. DeAngelo, Jr. and his wife Jen of Foxboro. He was the treasured grandfather of Cameron and Melina DeAngelo. He was the dear brother of Marie Bonnett of New Hampshire, Anne Bardes of New Hampshire and the late Nick DeAngelo and Michael DeAngelo. He is also survived by his much-loved nieces, nephews and many friends.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, October 30th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 31st at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street, Norton. Military honors, rendered by the United States Marine Corps, will take place at the conclusion of services at Saint Mary’s Church. Burial will be held at a later dater at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
