AROIAN, JANE F. (Moran) of Wellesley formerly of Boston, passed away on October 20, 2024 after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Beloved wife of the late Henry H. Aroian. Devoted sister to John “Jack” Moran, mother of Michael P. Aroian, loving grandmother of 3 grandchildren Hazelyn, Gabriel, and Madeline Aroian of Maynard, and affectionate aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Margaret Moran, Nancy Kennedy, Paul Moran, Francis Moran, and Mary Langley.
Jane was born in Boston, MA Daughter to the late Annie O’Connor Moran and Luke Moran. Jane graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from The University of Bridgeport, earned her Master of Science Degree from Catholic University and Doctor of Education from Northeastern University. Starting her career in 1971, Jane became a venerable professor of Nursing at the Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University and published numerous articles and papers in esteemed periodicals on nursing leadership. Dedicated to educating future nurses and seen as a treasured colleague, mentor, leader, and friend to the students and faculty of Bouve, she received the Distinguished Faculty Award in 2013 at the School of Nursing 50th Anniversary Celebration and later established the Dr. Jane Aroian Nursing Scholarship Fund. Deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, Jane was a nun prior to pursuing higher education and entering academia.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt.16) WELLESLEY, on Wednesday, October 30 from 5-7:30pm. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, October 31, at 10am followed by a funeral Mass in St. Paul Church, 502 Washington St. Wellesley, at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. In remembrance of Jane's life and love, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org
