Marcos "Marc" Chavez, 61 years of Ventura, entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 12, 2024 . Embracing grace, seeking inner peace, serenity, and love. "When you think you've been hit by a wave, but it's actually an ocean."
Born in Los Angeles, he grew up in Hawthorne and Los Angeles, attending Lawndale and Venice High School. He worked for Casa Pacifica, United Parents, and Turning Point, as a peer leader and a supporter in the field of Mental Health.
He was a dedicated fourth degree Knight of the San Buenaventura Knight of Columbus Council #2498. He served as PGK, worthy FS and sir knight. As FS he upheld financial; responsibility in accordance to Knights of Columbus Supreme bylaws. He was a longtime communicant of Mission Basilica San Buenaventura. Marc was responsible for membership drive, in which he was able to grow the Council with new members and youth.
Marc was a man that stood proud and was true to his faith. His personal formation, loyalty, commitment, and heart to the Knights of Columbus can not and never will be broken. For he is truly and unconditional loved by the mightiest of all, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
He leaves his beloved wife, Carole Escalera Chavez; 2 sons Carlos and Marcos "Nic" ; a daughter Jessica ; 2 brothers William and Joseph Chavez; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and the brotherhood of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his son Robert Anthony who passed on Palm Sunday, 2020, as well as his two sisters Theresa Chavez and Patricia Chavez.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours to be held on Sunday afternoon November 3, 2024 from 1pm to 5pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 3pm in the funeral home's chapel. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday, November 4, 2024, in Mission Basilica San Buenaventura, 211 E. Main Street, Ventura.
