Worcester – Evelyn (Mellor) Giguere, 83, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after a brief illness.

Evelyn was married for 52 years to the late Richard Giguere who passed away in 2012. She is survived by a son, Stephen Giguere of Worcester; a daughter, Christine Giguere McShera of Worcester; a sister, Linda Langevin of Hudson, FL; 4 grandchildren, Patrick Giguere, Michael Giguere, Christopher Silva and Sarah Giguere and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Giguere was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Howard and Mildred (LaFreniere) Mellor and is also predeceased by a son, Richard Giguere; a son-in-law, Richard McShera; three brothers, Fred, Edward and Benjamin Mellor and two sisters, Patricia Parker and Sandra Lindsay.

Evelyn graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and the majority of her career in the radiology department of UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus retiring in 2006.

Known for her boundless love and dedication to her family, Evelyn made every holiday memorable, filling her home with joy and love that will be forever cherished. She and her husband, Richard, found their happy place camping together, often retreating to the peace of the outdoors and the companionship of one another. Evelyn’s warmth extended beyond her family, welcoming all with open arms and earning her the beloved title of ‘Nana’ from family and friends alike.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 29 at 1 PM in Saint John’s Cemetery (Section – St. Christopher) 260 Cambridge St. Worcester.
