Obituary

Pearl M. (Allaire) Gill, 91, formerly of Worcester died Wednesday, October 23rd surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home in Spencer. Her husband of 64 years, Alfred D. Gill died in 2017. She leaves a son, Mitchell Gill and his wife, Tara of Rutland; a daughter, Susan White and her husband, Brian of Spencer; a brother, Ronald Allaire of Shrewsbury; a sister, Rita Boutwell of Hudson; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Mitchell, Kerry, Felicia, Andrea and Brianna; two great grandchildren, Amelia and Jacob; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was predeceased by a son, John Gill; a daughter in law, Nancy Gill; a brother, Edward Allaire; and two sisters, Florence Holbrook and Barbara Tuson.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Edward and Florence (Pequin) Allaire and graduated from the Worcester Girls Trade. She was a hardworking woman who dedicated much of her life to serving others. Pearl worked at Worcester City Hospital in housekeeping, before retiring from Charlton Manor Rest Home, where she worked as both an aide and a cleaner.
A devout Catholic, Pearl attended Christ the King Church with her family for many years, finding great solace in her faith. She was passionate about traveling, enjoying many memorable cruises with her siblings, and visits to Hampton Beach, Cape Cod and Myrtle Beach where she lived for short time and appreciated the community, friendships, and activities. Family trips were especially cherished, creating lasting memories for everyone.
For the past 14 years, Pearl’s love for Broadway flourished, attending an impressive nine shows a year. She also found joy at Susan's house on the lake in Spencer, where she was fondly known as the captain of the boat, often leading sunset cruises.
She previously lived at Tatnuck Park Assisted Living where she embraced the friendships, community, and participated in their trips and activities, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Above all, Pearl treasured her time with family. She was happiest when surrounded by loved ones, never wanting to be alone, always seeking to create shared moments of joy and connection.
Pearl's warm heart and boundless love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in the many memories she left behind and the lasting impact of her love and dedication.
The family would like to thank Miriam and the staff of the VNA Hospice and Palliative Care, as well as Jen from Laura’s Guardian Angels for the compassion and care Pearl received.
Her funeral is Tuesday, October 29th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, October 28th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions maybe made to VNA Hospice and Palliative Care, 100 Trade Center, Suite G-500, Woburn, MA 01801 or to the Laura’s Guardian Angels, 2 Meetinghouse Ln, Millbury, MA 01527.
