PORTLAND- John Stanley Brown, (better known by his loved ones as Uncle Jackie) passed away at 75 years old on October 22nd, 2024, after a long-fought battle with cancer and other health complications in his latest years. Jackie was born in Framingham Massachusetts on Dec 30th, 1948. In his afterlife he is reunited with his late parents, sister, and brother/best friend James Brown.
Despite being rather modest about it, Uncle Jackie had achieved many accomplishments in is lifetime that his family is very proud to share. John/Uncle Jackie served in the United States Navy from July 1969 until he was honorably discharged in 1975. He then went on to study business management and also earned a degree in Science in Boston MA, at Newbury Junior College in 1978. The man was no doubt the Eisenstein of his family, as he was so smart and witty.
Our beloved Uncle Jackie is best described as a giant Sour patch kid, first he’s sour then he’s sweet. We never had to wonder what Jackie was thinking as he always spoke his mind, so bluntly it was almost funny. Jackie also had a very soft and sweet side to him that only ones closest to him got the pleasure of knowing. His random acts of sweetness, kindness, and comedy being some of the many things his family will miss most about him. To know him was to love him.
Having no children of his own, he treated his brother James children as his own! His nieces and nephews and their children were his world; especially after losing his best friend and brother whom he was always very close to 5 years ago. His family forever thanks and cherishes their Uncle Jackie for all the smiles and laughs he provided them with during their times together.
John Brown is survived by his 2 nieces Annie and Donna, nephews Mikey, Jimmy and Kyle, many great nieces and nephews as well as a baby great-great nephew who he adored, and his sister-in-law Donna Brown.
