Obituary

SOUTH PORTLAND- Brenda June Cook, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 3:33 PM.

Born to Earl and Lula Adams and sister to Robert Adams,, Brenda grew up in South Portland, Maine where she was a proud majorette at South Portland High School and graduated in 1961.

Brenda met the love of her life, Thomas H. Cook, while working for the Pentagon in Washington DC. They were married for 52 years before his passing in 2021.

Brenda was the proud owner of a charming bridal and floral shop, Flower Girls that stood side-by-side with Widow’s Walk Antiques and Gifts, a family business in Scarborough, Maine.

Brenda is survived by two daughters Kimberly SanGiovanni and Marylou Cook, as well as her six grandchildren: Iris ,Lily, JadeRose, Thomas, Clara, and Adelaide.
Brenda was a true crafter at heart always with a project in hand. Her creativity flowed from her fingertips and she left a legacy of handmade treasures. Brenda had a love of the ocean and would revisit Boothbay Harbor for her wedding anniversary each year. Brenda had a passion for documenting her families rich history and ancestry, leaving behind a meticulously compiled archive for future generations.
Brenda will be remembered for her kindness, creativity, and love of beautiful things. She will be deeply missed.
